Football

As August arrives with the withered leaves
my sleepless nights begin.
I'm  awoken with the buzzing bees
and a monstrous roaring.

I turn my head to his applause
and the lights that hurt my eyes
I'm half asleep or half awake
my jaw drops to his disguise

"Oh! What a goal" my beloved claims
clasping hands, murmuring praises
Jumping at victory frowning at loss
enjoying his own wingdings.

...and for me,
its half past three,
Wide AWOKEN,
(I'm) furious at his glee.

...and again,
its the roosters turn
crowing away before the dawn

Now I'm Left with aching ears
the loud applause; my nightmares
So every night I'm wide awake
like an owl, glazing stares.

And each time the same repeats
all I'm left with no sleep.
how i long for the spring to bloom
Oh dear Blossoms see you soon.

And at last May is here!
and to my nights Crickets are still there!
